Brain Dump 2

The other day I was sitting and thinking about things, as one does. I started thinking about something that really really boggles my mind. I was watching some video on some social media platform, and the video mentioned mechanical calculators.

This really made me ask one question: how? I simply cannot wrap my head around how these engineers managed to add, subtract, divide and multiply with only mechanical parts. The amount of micro engineering to fit all these gears and chains inside of a shell.

I understand that the same logical processes are going on in digital calculators, but to see them happen physically is truly amazing to see.

Anyways, it is almost Thanksgiving break. I’m excited to go home for a few reasons:

  1. I miss my mom

  2. I miss my mom’s cooking

  3. I miss my gym

The only issue is I have a seven hour drive back to New York ahead of me, and the drive back is worse than driving here. I usually stop in Angola, New York, which is around four hours away from Ada. From there it is only three hours away from my home. Those four hours to Angola are brutal because there is nothing around me. Once I get to the Seneca Nation in New York, it actually turns into a fun drive.

Pro tip: Slow way down in Mansfield and Ashland. The state troopers absolutely love to write tickets there.

  1. Cole, I also find that technology incredible. I hope you get through the drive okay and enjoy Thanksgiving break with your family! Regarding your pro tip, I have indeed heard the same thing.
